Terms of use

ProfScope is an independent, non-commercial project by students. It is not run, approved or endorsed by any university. By using the site you agree to these terms and to the review rules.

Reviews are opinions

Every review is the personal opinion of an anonymous student about a course they took. Reviews are not checked for accuracy and are not statements of fact by ProfScope or by any university. Read them as one student’s experience, not as a verdict on anyone.

Your responsibility

  • Write only about a course you actually took, and only about the teaching: lectures, materials, workload, exams, grading and feedback.
  • Do not post insults, threats, harassment, discrimination, comments about anyone’s private life, appearance, religion, ethnicity, gender or health, or accusations you cannot back up.
  • Do not post personal data of anyone, including other students.
  • You are responsible for what you write. Content that breaks these terms or the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan is removed.

Moderation and blocking

  • Reviews pass an automatic language filter. Reviews with text are then checked by an AI moderator, which runs on a moderator’s own computer, before they appear to other people; until then they wait as “awaiting”. A rating without text appears at once. People can also check and remove reviews.
  • Three reports from different networks hide a review until a moderator or the AI checks it again. A removal request from a professor hides that review at once until a moderator decides.
  • We may hide or remove any review that breaks the rules, without notice.
  • When a review breaks the rules, moderators can block the browser it was posted from, so it cannot post again. Blocks can be lifted.

For faculty

If you are a professor and a review about you breaks these terms, open it on your page, press Report and choose “I am this professor”. The review is checked by a moderator and removed if it breaks the rules or the law. You can also ask for your whole profile to be removed with the link at the bottom of your page, or write to profscope.contact@gmail.com. We aim to act on removal requests within 48 hours.

Your privacy

There are no accounts. Reviews carry no names, emails or IP addresses. See the privacy page for exactly what is stored.

Using your review

By posting, you allow ProfScope to show your review on the site. Reviews cannot be edited after posting; to have yours removed, report it and explain why.

No guarantees

The site is offered as is, may change or stop at any time, and may contain mistakes. Names, titles and schools of faculty come from the public faculty pages of the university.

Changes
